How technology is shaping the way we design and create art?
We held a workshop with the students from
Industrial Design at CIDI-UNAM. We introduced
them to TouchDesigner as a creative tool to explore
the intersection between technology, interactive
design and art to create immersive experiences.
In the first part of the workshop, the participants were able to get familiar with the software interface, and understand the process of dealing with textures, real-time data and 3D models.
Afterward, we asked the students to gather in 4 different groups. We created 4 different activities that involved different techniques related to generative art such as audio-reactivity, video input, live motion tracking, and 3D model input. We also asked them to explore freely the projection mapping with the tool Katan Mapper.
The final result was a diverse combination of creativity and technical tools.
