“Creature freedom as utopia (AT)” is an opera performance that addresses queerness and (dis)ability. The opera is sung by the queer Salomé, as Oskar Wilde interprets this character. Through the “Salomé Dance”, a transversal space for queerness and ableism is opened up, where the existence and full expression of marginalised groups is possible. The opera takes us through the story of the Minotaur, who is kept away from society in a labyrinth.

The performance is inspired by the ideas of utopian modes of being. It discusses the modes of being and explores new directions of aesthetics. The project insists on traversing fantastic language with the aim of finding the dissolution of limitations and restrictive categories. The poem as libretto works with onomatopoeic words and also with text passages and fragments. It reflects different levels of response possibilities, both of sounds and of linguistic categories.
